A transformative restaurant space designed for a non-profit organization. The project involved converting a former department store into a fine dining venue with an open kitchen, training facilities, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere to support their mission of empowering youth.
The Challenge
Converting a retail space into a fully functional commercial kitchen and fine dining restaurant presented significant infrastructure challenges, particularly regarding ventilation, plumbing, and grease traps, all while adhering to a strict non-profit budget.
The Solution
We worked closely with engineers to design efficient mechanical systems that fit within the existing structure. Value engineering was applied to select durable yet cost-effective finishes that created a warm, upscale ambiance. The layout was optimized to serve dual purposes: a high-end dining experience for guests and a practical training ground for the program's interns.
